2 cups white sugar

½ teaspoon salt

little nutmeg

1 cup shortening

1 cup plus 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

(You may need a little more milk, but add just a little at a time.) Add lemon extract and raisins to suit your taste. Form a ball, roll or pat out to ½ inch or so. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut with biscuit cutter or top of water glass. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for about 15 minutes.
