Belgian Waffles – Dessert

These waffles are like pound cake and are served at room temperature for dessert plain or with fruits and ice cream.



2 cups flour

1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp butter

2 eggs

1 cups sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp almond extract


1Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla extract and almond extract. Mix in flour.

2Cook golf ball sized pieces of dough on a belgian waffle iron. The waffles will be round and cookie sized. The should not completely fill the space for the waffle.

3Dip in melted chocolate if desired.
