Full-screen Banana Bread By Tad Mitchell December 24, 2016 Ingredients ½ cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup mashed bananas 1 teaspoon lemon juice 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt ¾ cup nuts powdered sugar, if desired Directions 1Cream shortening and sugar. 2Add one egg at a time, then add banana and lemon juice. 3Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and add to batter. 4Mix well and fold in nuts. 5Bake 350° for an hour or less. Test center with toothpick. When it comes out without batter on it, it is done. 6Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. close full screen 00:00
